The Evangelicals Could Ascend Their 'Stairway to Heaven' Soon If Turkey and the Saudis Invade Syria

Turkish artillery firing into Syria at Kurdish positions

Turkey continues its shelling of Syrian territory today despite the fact that both the U.S. and France are urging Turkey to stop shelling the Kurds. As RT reports today: "The US has called on its NATO ally Turkey to cease artillery fire against Kurdish positions in Syria’s territory. U.S. State Department spokesman John Kirby also stressed that Washington does not regard the Syrian Kurds as terrorists. The comment prompted anger in Ankara, where the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) and its military wing, the YPG, are seen as affiliates of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). France also joined the US calls, with the country’s Foreign Ministry urging Turkey to halt the bombardment of Kurdish areas in Syria."

It appears that Turkey – a NATO member – and Saudi Arabia, a US ally, are going rogue, though it's impossible to know if the US and NATO allies are once again simply lying about what's being said behind the scenes. At least publicly the US seems to understand that this illegal bombardment of sovereign Syrian territory is part on an insane strategy who's goal is to invade Syria and that such a move by Turkish and Saudi troops into Syria would be ‘catastrophic’.

What is being widely reported outside the US dominated MSM is that some Turkish forces have already entered Syria this morning and that Saudi Arabia is sending troops into Turkey as 'base for Syria invasion' as well as moving air force assets to the same Turkish base.

Why? Well besides hating the Kurds for the last 1000 years or more, Turkey wants to stop Kurds liberating northern Syria from ISIS. Turkey knows that if/when anyone other than ISIS and Al-Nusra control the area whoever it is will shut down the Syrian/Turkey border crossings which will cut off the Turkish supply of oil from ISIS as well as close the corridor through which Turkey now arms and re-enforces the Whabbist fanatics. The Turks both profit from the illegal oil trade and see the Whabbists as allies against the Shia government in Syria and the Kurds. From our distant perspective here in North America the situation is so complex that it's impossible to figure out the Hollywood-esque question of who wears the black or white hats. "Washington for the longest time has had this idea that it could control Saudi Arabia. Now that is the other way around. The Saudi are quite clearly are controlling Washington, and only because they have immense pressure that they could exert in terms of Washington’s financial health. They need and they rely on the oil coming from Saudi Arabia. There is a big problem for Washington. Then again you have this Saudi lobby, which is basically financing and buying off politicians in Washington. So their interest is aligning not with what is good for the American people, but only what is good for their own pocket." - Political commentator Marwa Osman 

Add to that the fact the fanatics running Turkey are NATO members who are doing everything they can to get someone to shoot back at them so they can demand NATO comes to their rescue much like the Americans who floated convoys across the N. Atlantic in the run-up to WW!! in an attempt to get Germany to shoot at them.

The Munich Peace Talks are useless unless the US and NATO find the balls to talk turkey to Turkey and Saudi Arabia...but, IMO, they won't because the Saudis would, as they did in the 70s, cut off the US oil supplies. And the Europeans won't either because if they did Turkey would just open the tap and flood Europe with even more Syrian refugees [2 1/2 million already are in Turkey with hundreds of thousands more arriving at the border from the Aleppo area in the last weeks].

If Turkey and the Saudis go into Syria the combined forces of Syria, Iran, Russia and Hezbollah will pummel them. At that point, which could easily be in this coming week] the Americans and Europeans will have either call the Turkish/Saudi bluff and let them be beaten or try to intervene militarily which is exactly what the Evangelical lunatics believe is their 'stairway to Heaven'.
